LED Light Bar Laws in Manitoba

Driving Lights

  • Permitted up to 2 driving lamps

3.2 (1) Lamps – prohibited and optional equipment

  • any lamp that is not a white lamp
  • a white lamp at the rear of a vehicle, or directed towards the rear of a vehicle, that is illuminated while the vehicle is travelling forward
  • any lamp that flashes, oscillates or lights intermittently
  • any lamp other than a stationary lamp

3.2 (2)

                (m) up to two driving lamps (high beam or low beam)

5.3 (3) A fog lamp on a vehicle on a highway must not be lighted while the vehicle’s headlamps are on high beam

  1. q) fog lamps

Reject if

  • more than 2 located on the front
  • not white or amber light on front
  • any part is higher than the headlamps
  • non-OEM light does not display SAE or DOT marking and proper lamp type coding, or the manufacturer has not provided a product compliance certificate
  • not activated by a dedicated switch within reach of the driver
  1. u) off-road lamps

Reject if

  • are not covered with an opaque cover

6.4 Lamp Aim

  1. b) fog and driving lamps

Reject if

- the vertical aim is to the left of the vertical centre line of the low beam

- the horizontal aim is more than 0.0 mm (0.0 in) above or 100 mm (4 in.) below the horizontal centre line of the lamp (measured at 7.5 m (25 ft.) from lamp)
